She discussed how the education program provides field trips and tours, often given by volunteers with higher educaitons and/or education experience (college professors or people with master’s degrees). Also, the tours for children are always involve hand-on activities that are tailored for each specific exhibit. The museum also offers classes for children that use interactive technology to educate children on architecture, art, and history. Additionally, the museum is working on a program that would use iPads to allow teachers give their students customized or pre-made tours.
Although the museum does not frequent social media, the marketing team uses digital storytelling to design and promote exhibits or programs. The museum also hires content developers, who use technology to develop field trips, as well as evaluators who can collect information in order to understand how well a program is working. All of these jobs require knowledge of and experience with technology.
